What’s a car if you can’t customise your rims?
What’s a home if you can’t choose your furnishings?
What’s a phone if you can’t choose your own themes and ring tones?

Of course all this probably doesn’t matter if you belong to the cult of the iPhone. Being the same as everyone else is more important than individuality, so no need to express it. With Steve Jobs as leader you can make a brave new world, of white plastic and grey turtle necks.

The cult like phenomenon of the iPhone is curious. Back in the day Apple’s message, exemplified by the ‘1984′ TV advertisement’, was that of individuality. Being different.  Now they want us to be all the same. One phone to rule them all.
