It only has 16/32 gigs of memory

The recently announced iPhone 3GS has a paltry maximum memory capability of 32 gigs for the premium model with no option for removable memory expansion. The Nokia N97 announced almost six months before comes with over 32 gigs built in and the ability for unlimited expansion capabilities using 16gig+ cards. Other manufacturers will be releasing 100 gig phones by the year’s end.

With most movies running in at 700megs to  a gigabyte these days the iPhone’s memory seems rather limited. Especially when you add your music collection in which these days can easily run into the gigabytes.

Apple’s continued refusal to support swappable peripherals like batteries and memory cards is holding the poor iPhone back as users of other brands of phones can just upgrade their device with a new card or swappable batteries.

    Why do you expect to be able to hold more than 40 movies on your iphone, get some dvds for goodness sake, this huge amount of memory is unnessesary, as electronic media will never overtake high quality removavle media (blu-ray) (hd dvd) (cd’s)

    I know there are now supposedly higher quality mp3’s that are better quality than cda, but they cost around £1.50 a track

    Oh..and ….do your research please…. You can pick and choose points on any phone you dont like….

    nokia n97
    HSDPA maximum speed up to 3.6 Mbps-
    —iphone 3gs can support HSDPA 7.2mbps

    nokia n97
    Hardware

    Memory

    * MicroSD memory card slot, hot swappable, up to 16 GB
    * Internal memory: 32 GB

    Iphone = 32gb as well….no mem card slot….not like 16gb is going to make that much of a difference….if you need that much crap on your phone…carry a jumpdrive.
