They explode for no reason

Who wouldn’t want a phone that explodes for no reason whatsoever? All of us me thinks.

Marie-Dominique Kolega, from Aix-en-Provence in France, has threatened to file a complaint against Apple.

She says her 18-year-old son was struck in the eye by a piece of glass when the screen shattered on his girlfriend’s iPhone.

According to Ms Kolega, the phone began making a hissing noise and the screen suddenly broke, sending pieces flying in the air.

its amazing how much time you have dedicated to this website, i seriously wonder what you get out of it.

i for one find that many of your observations are biased and one sided and hardly hold any water. i did not have time to read all your posts, but your comparison between the nokia 3310 and the 3GS sure gave me a huge laugh. I mean, compare apples with apples (pun not intended), but apples with (er..) peppers!

seriously guy, i too dont like the restrictions that apple places on their products but, seriously guy! you gotta come out with better thought out points before posting them and keeping a count on the number of ‘fanboys’ who you have ‘upsetted’!

i have an iphone, im not afraid to say that i like it cos it is addictive, i dont care if you label me a ‘fanboy’ just to gain more sympathy from the people on the other side of the apple-fence. geez some of you people sound really like losers in high school huddled together complaining about how unjust and unfair the world has been to you!

well just my 2 cents worth, guess it wont make a difference to you, just hoping you can come up with more valid points in future!

    cheers!

    This was attempted FRAUD!

In fact they broke the screen (leaning on it, dropping it or whatever) THEN set fire to it, and tried to get Apple to replace it!

Get the facts. Only the facts.

  3. Anony mouse #273 says:

@apple-biggie this was definitely not fraud. There have been a LOT of cases of people’s iphones exploding for no reason. Who would set fire to a phone? Get real!

These phones exploding is definitely a common occurrence. I would steer clear if I was you. There’s a recent case where an owner is sueing Apple. http://www.smh.com.au/digital-life/iphone/iphone-user-seeks-answers-for-explosion-20091116-ihan.html

    Which phones explode?

More bad press has been given to Nokia over this and they’ve had to issue global recalls….

i have an iPhone for a little over a year now.. I’ve dropped it down the stairs at my homes more times than i count.. watch it slam into the windshield of my truck as i was rolling through the air.. and its never failed to turn on and work as intended… so exploding iPhone’s maybe some people but i am sure its the environment in witch they are exposed to.. I’ve beat the CRAP out of mine and still goes like a champ.

I do have MANY MANY issues with my phone basicly its lack of the simple features without having to jailbreak it.. some where addressed not so long ago with a update but here’s my list anyways. MMS not part of the normal SMS on the phone.. Bluetooth file transfer.. lack of memory expansion (I KNOW marketing gimmick), can’t use a pointing device finger op required ( a bitch for me i have huge hands). Horrible battery life when 3G is on god forbid u actually use the phone’s data capability. Those where the bigs.. i know not really all that big but for what the phone costs a month we shouldn’t have to WANT for features…OHHH I lied.. heres the BIGGY.. iTunes Required for syncing, i realize its there software there phone but i cannot install itunes on my computer at work so i have to sync my phone to google at hom then pull my sync from google at work.. PAIN IN MY BUTT..

Anyways my very long 2 cents
